                                                                             COMMENTARY

One of the elements of salvation is that a person believes in the Biblical Doctrine of the Resurrection of Messiah from the dead with is Heart! Now....

John Owen said this about a Christian’s heart;

"This is the subject, the seat, the dwelling-place of this law of sin—-the ~Heart~: as it is the entire principle of moral operations, of doing good or evil, as out of it proceed good or evil. Here dwells our enemy; this is the fort, the citadel of this tyrant, where it maintains a ~REBELLION AGAINST GOD ALL OUR DAYS!~  Sometimes it has more strength and consequently more success; sometimes less of the one and of the other; but it is  ~ALWAYS IN REBELLION WHILST WE LIVE.~" [My Emphases.]; Temptation And Sin. Section title; The Nature, Power, Deceit and Prevalency of the Remainders of Indwelling Sin in Believers. Chap. 3 para. 6

Now ladies & gentlemen... If, as Owen says, the heart of a Christian is "ALWAYS IN REBELLION WHILST WE LIVE" how in the name of Boo-duh  can such a person possibly believe in the doctrine of the resurrection in that Rebellious heart? Belief in that Doctrine is in Harmony with God, not Rebellion. But according to Owen his Heart is ALWAYS in Rebellion.

If... as Mr John Owen states.... If a Christian’s heart; "maintains a REBELLION AGAINST GOD ALL OUR DAYS!" then how in the name of all that is sane and good could such a heart believe UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS! ? Such a notion as John Owen has put forth is nothing but darkness. It not only violates all laws of sanity & logic but it levels a DIRECT CONTRADICTION to the word of God which so clearly testifies against such anti-christian doctrine from cover to cover. A simple word search on the word ‘heart’ is more than sufficient to refute such unbiblical nonsense!

Ps 7:10  My defense is of God, who saves the upright in heart.

Is a Heart that is in Rebellion Against God  ~All our Days~... Upright?
Such a notion is imbecilic!

Ps 9:1  To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.

Did the Psalmist praise Him with a Rebellious Heart?

John Owen taught heresy!
