                              COMMENTARY

  He's saying that he does not even have the -ability- to do anything good folks! That means he can't repent or believe the Gospel or walk in Hoilness and bear fruit unto life. But Jesus said;

Mt 12:35  The good man out of his good treasure brings forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things.
Lu 6:45  The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Which one would you say is the guy here in Romans 7? Is he a good man or an evil man? Or.....

Luke 8:15  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Does this look like the guy in Romans 7?

  This passage is speaking of one’s Conduct not one’s Character. In My Flesh;;; All that was characteristic of his old self before regeneration in terms of his conduct.  This is in keeping with the context of the scope of chapters 6 thru 8.

  As well the verse cannot be speaking of a renewed Christian when it says the man does not know -how- to do that which is good! Every born-again Christian certainly knows exactly how to do that which is good... & he not only knows how to do it, he actually does it! lots of places show this most plainly.

  If this poor guy don't even know -how- to perform that which is good then how in the name of Boodah can this be a description of the Romans 6 guy?  Or the 1John 3 guy? C'mon evvybuddiee.
