                                                   COMMENTARY

Believing "on" Him / "in" Him are one and the same thing.  Believing on or in Him means to believe Him. It means to believe what He says; His words; His teachings. It means to believe the truth. But there are many out there who condemn those of us who instist on what the Bible insists on... Correct Doctrine; for that's what Truth is.

Stock wicked objection against Christianity;
We're not saved by Doctrine but by a Person.

Well... duhh-h no kiddding folks? Now all you have to do is give me an accurate description of this "Person" you are talking about... but do -Not-  speak any Doctrine.

Don't tell me He's the Son of God because that's Doctrine and we're not saved by Doctrine.
Don't tell me He's the Messiah because that's Doctrine and we're not saved by Doctrine.
Don't tell me He's the Second Person of the Godhead because that's Doctrine and we're not saved by Doctrine.
Don't tell me he arose Bodily from the dead because that's Doctrine and we're not saved by Doctrine.
And by All means don't even tell me of His Atoning death on a Roman gibbit for somebodies sins!! because that's Doctrine and we're not saved by Doctrine.

And most certainly do Not tell me about the Gospel and the absolute necessity of belief in the Gospel otherwise you will be damned according to Mark 16:15,16...  because that's Doctrine and that's all the Gospel is is Doctrine and we're not saved by Doctrine.  See next verse..
