This verse shows that circumcision has  ~nothing to do~  with salvation!

Abraham's Justification by means of Faith took place  -Before-  he was
circumcised.  -Before- he was a Jew.That means that the promises of God in the Gospel came through Gentile Dogs, not the Jews!  Verse 13 plainly says that the Gospel Promise ~Did Not Come~ through the law... which means it Did Not Come through the Jewish Nation! This is devastating to Covenant Theology gents. True, Romans 9:4 does say that the promises were -given- to the Jews but they find their root in Gentile Doggery according to Romans 4. This is exactly what Justification by Faith is all about. It has nothing to do with ethnicity! Nothing! Zilch! Nada! Epess! Men who believe God are Justified no matter whether they are Jews, Russians or Chinamen! And this was true even in the OT. The fact that Abraham was Justified as a Non-Jew well illustrates this truth! Romans 4 proves that the Gospel came to Gentiles before anyone was a Jew. See the next verse.
