                                     COMMENTARY

  Those who say that Paul and James contradict each other have never read this verse. Here Paul teaches the same thing that James teaches, namely, we are justified by keeping the law! True, salvation is all of grace apart from the law from beginning to end but it is also true that if one is really saved *how he lives will prove it!* !

  See folks, this is why the All Wise God says in His Bible, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by ~Every~.... word.
Does a verse like this bother all you who claim to hold to salvation by grace alone and Sola Scriptura at the same time?
Do you really & truly believe   ~EVERY~  word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Living God? I have spoken to many who claim they do yet when they are confronted with passages that upset their theological apple cart they show their true colors in that they really do not believe the Bible. For example, I personally believe that a Christian is no longer a sinner and his life is marked by an absence of sin. Most consider me a heretik because of that doctrine but the one and only reason I believe it is because the God I worship says so.. in 1John 3:1-9 for example. I also believe that my Savior was in the tomb for a period of Three days...  ~And Three Nights~  which completely overturns a lot of theological apple carts and gets me the appellation of 'heretik' but again the only reason I believe that is because my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ said so there in Matt 12:40. I don't know about you dear reader, but I most certainly believe -Every- word that proceeds from the mouth of God... even when it causes me difficulty... I believe it because HE said so. How about you?
