                                                                      COMMENTARY

                                                                      12 Sent Out

Mar_3:14  Luk_9:1-2 Of the 12 that were sent out by Jesus we know for sure that at least one was unregenerate.  His name was Judas Iscariot. Now it does not say outright that Judas  preached or healed or cast out demons but we do have firm Biblical grounds to say that he did perform these activities along with the other 11. For example we have the passage in; Mat_7:21-23 specifically verse 22 where it is plainly stated that many will claim to have engaged in such activities as the basis upon which they should be given an open door into heaven. There Messiah Himself announces that He never knew such people. So even if one wanted to argue that Judas did none of the activities mentioned here by Messiah we still have testimony that there will be others who did and were yet lost & unregenerate all the time they were active in religion.

So a person can prophesy, preach, write books, ~~host radio programs~~! & do many wonderful works.. such as casting out demons while they are still unregenerate.

Not only that but a person can also exhibit a form of godliness, which is to say that they look like Godly people, but they deny the power of true godliness while they are still unregenerate. 2Ti_3:5

Not only that but people can actually change themselves into what looks like an Apostle. They can make themselves look like an angel of light and ministers of  righteousness and appear to be true messengers of righteousness while they are still unregenerate. 2Co_11:13-15

Not only that but people can actually hear & believe the truth and endure for a time while they are still unregenerate. Luk_8:13

Not only that but people can believe the Gospel and be baptized while they are still unregenerate. Act_8:13

This is why God says not to believe every Tom Dicken Harry but Test them. 1Jo_4:1-3. This applies -Especially- to people who claim to be teachers, leaders and pastors. And don't just ask them if they "believe the Bible" or they "believe in Jesus". Grill them intensely. And if they refuse to be examined by the Scriptures, they must be judged false teachers and Christians are to have nothing to do with them. As well it applies to those who are dead but have written books. Don't swallow everything you read just because a man had letters after his name, was the "pastor" of the xyz church or wore a black robe and a long wig! Examine ~Everything~ by the Scriptures and if it doesn't match the Bible then Reject it. This is what the Bereans did and they did it with an Apostle! If an Apostle was subject to being examined by the Scriptures then who dares to raise himself above an Apostle and not allow himself to be examined by the Scriptures?
There were, and are too many Fakes & Charlatans going around leading people down the wrong path of false doctrine, and in many cases leading them to their doom!
