COMMENTARY
Again you needed the Priest in order to make atonement for
sin. Without a Priest there was no Atonement and without an Atonement
the covenant was broken. Once again the absolute necessity of the
Levitical Priesthood in connection with the Ten Commandments, which was
the covenant. So once again when covenant theologians say the Ten
Commandments are binding on All men of All ages they are painting
themselves into a corner. The Levite was the only legal priest under
Moses. But Messiah was not a Levite; He was of Judah. Therefore
He cannot have any influence with regard to the Mosaic Covenant.
Therefore both the covenant as well as the Priesthood necessarily had
to be changed otherwise we have no Great High Priest & there
is no salvation.
