COMMENTARY
Under Moses God ~required~ the shedding of blood of animals as a
means for the Israelites to ratify the covenant. Had there been no
blood shedding that would have meant that Israel had broken the
covenant. Therefore blood was ~necessary~. Now... it was the function
of the Aaronic priesthood to carry out the requirements of blood;
offering the sacrifices & sprinkling the blood & burning the
animals... etc. This activity was ~necessary~ otherwise the covenant
would have been broken. And this ~necessary~ activity was confined to
the Aaronic Priesthood exclusively. Anyone other than a legal Levitical
Priest who tried to offer to the Lord was in violation of the covenant.
Aaron’s sons, Nadab & Abihu were immediately killed by God
when they tried to sacrifice strange fire on their own! So... without
the shedding of blood the covenant, . WHICH WAS THE TEN COMMANDMENTS,
is broken. And without the Aaronic Priesthood there is no legal
shedding of blood; the covenant is broken. But folks... here’s
the point; THERE IS NO MORE LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD! Yet Covenant
Theologians want to tell us that Moses is not only still in force but
it is/was for ALL men in ALL ages! If that’s so then animal
sacrifices are of ~absolute necessity~ otherwise the covenant is
broken. So Covenant Theologians
want us to remain under Moses... but then be "under Christ" at the same
time! Not only is this absurd, it’s patently UNbiblical. It is
against Scripture because the book of Hebrews clearly teaches that both
the law and the Priesthood were changed, being fulfilled & done
away in Christ, God’s Messiah. This was necessary because the
Aaronic Priesthood needed to be changed because Jesus Christ was not a
Levite; He was of the tribe of Judah and if the Aaronic Priesthood had
not been changed [done away] then Jesus Christ was not a true legal
priest and there is no salvation in Him!
Covenant theology is heresy. It denies the words of God in Scripture.
