COMMENTARY
Love ~requires~ obedience!
. Now folks... According to the words of Messiah, if a person is -not-
keeping His commandments what does that indicate? The Scriptures teach
most clearly that obedience is one of the main elements of the true
doctrine of Sanctification. That is to say, one of the identifying
characteristics of a true Christian is the fact that he is walking in
obedience to His Lord and keeping His commandments. Those who are
not keeping His commandments have no Biblical basis on which to claim
they are saved! 1John 2:4 and many other
passages are quite clear on that. Again, one sure way of telling
whether or not a person who says "Jesus" is a true Christian is by
seeing whether or not he is walking in obedience to the "Jesus" he
claims to believe in. If a person is not obeying then he is
disobeying, which means he's still in his sin. See Romans 6:17
Does the man in Romans 7 look like he's keeping His commandments?
Are ~you~ keeping His commandments?
