                                    COMMENTARY

  Clearly  Melchizedek was not of the line of Aaron and/or the Levites. The statement "descent is not counted from them" means Melchizedek was not of the line of Aaron and/or the Levites; how could he be seeing as neither yet existed when Melchizedek was a priest. Therefore, as noted, once the Aaronic Priesthood was established  Melchizedek's status as priest, [if he was still alive]..  ends. Otherwise Melchizedek becomes an Illegal priest.
