COMMENTARY
In an attempt to discover and/or account for the origin of all
things, many religionists will speak of such things as 'Primary'
and 'Secondary' Causation, 'Efficient' and 'Ultimate' Causation
and the idea of 'Permission'. This is because their minds are locked
into the notion that if God brought evil into His creation then He
Himself must be evil. But such an idea is absurd. God created elephants
and
vermin. Does that mean that God is an elephant or
vermin? God created mountains and oceans. Does that mean God is a
mountain or an ocean? One cannot impute the characteristics of the
creation to God for to do so is to end up in Pantheism. On the other
hand, if the ideas mentioned above are followed to their logical end
the result lands us in Deism. Primary and Secondary Causation,
Efficient and Ultimate Causation and the idea of Permission are
all attempts to remove God from evil. But once you remove God
from anything the result can only be Deism, which is the idea that God
created the universe and then departed for parts unknown leaving the
universe to proceed "according to natural law" while God Himself has no
part in human and/or angelic history. Any Deist would be
perfectly at home with such notions
because he believes that God, if He does exist, has created the
universe and left it to itself. Whatever happens is the result of
either chance or the
natural laws of the creation. In this way God has no part in anything
that comes to pass in human history, including all the evil there is.
But that's Deism folks and all God's children said... Heresy!
Moreover, Arguing from the Creation solves nothing
because Creation is the
wrong starting point. Remember, the search is for Origins and Origins
are not found in the Creation. To show this all you have to do is ask
the question; What is the Origin of the Creation itself ? The
answer
is that the creation 'Originated' in the Mind of God all the way
back before the beginning of time into eternity. That's the true
starting point in the search for origins. That is to say that
the entire scheme of creation including angels, demons and man is/was
all part of the eternal decree of God and nothing comes to pass that
has not been decreed by Him in eternity. Conversely all that He has
decreed, including sin, Hell & the eternal damnation of the
reprobate will most assuredly and infallibly come to pass.
What was the greatest sin ever committed by the sons of men in this
world?
Answer; The crucifixion of the Blessed Son of the Living God.
Did God decree and ordain that that event should infallibly come to
pass?
Answer;
Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of
Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and
signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also
know:
23 Him, being delivered by the -determinate counsel and
foreknowledge of God-, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have
crucified and slain:
Acts 4:27 for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant
Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the
Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,
28 to do whatsoever -thy- hand and -thy- council -foreordained to
come to pass.-
Is that your God?
So folks, the quest for the ultimate origin of all things is not
found in creation; it's found in the sovereign, eternal decree of GOD.
That is, everything that ever was, is or will be was all present in the
Divine Decree back in eternity before anything at all had any
existence. That being so the real question is not "what is the
ultimate origin of all things?". We have the answer to that question in
the Eternal Decree of God. Now the question is...
*What kind of a Being known as GOD can conceive of a universe that He
will bring into existence that contains Evil, and at the same time
remain completely and totally Righteous and Holy? Or in short... How
can a Holy GOD even -conceive- evil?
