How is it that God can make such a statement of absolute assurance of what He is going to do in the future?  What if things do not work out or arrange themselves in such a fashion as to 'allow' God to place enmity where He intends to? Further how is it that God can be so absolutely sure that His intended effect will infallibly come to pass? The answer to these questions lies in the doctrines of the Decree; Prophecy; and Providence.

This verse is a prophecy in which God is informing us as to what will come to pass at some future date. This is what is known as  predictive prophecy as it foretells the future.

Observation;   All forms of fortune telling,  crystal ball gazing,  horoscopes, palm reading, tarot cards,  or anything else that claims it can predict the future are Satanic and  a direct attack on God Himself.  It is a claim to actually BE God.  This is so because foretelling of future events is a charactistic of God and He holds a monopoly on it.  Anyone claiming to be able to predict the future in any fashion is in effect claiming to be God. All prophecy finds its origin in the decree of God. God knows what will be because He has decreed all things whatsoever come to pass in all time and eternity. Romans 11:36. Therefore he who claims to know the future is claiming omniscience. But only God is omniscient so such claims are an attack on God as well as demonic. This includes all attempts to know when the 2nd Advent will occur. People who try to set dates and/or tell us when the Lord will return are -heretics- folks because Messiah Himself tells us that ~NO~ one has access to that information, not even He Himself. Yet there are people who think they are wiser than the Son of God and can know that which He said is unknown. One such man is Harold Camping.

Harold Camping is a -Heretic-! His book "1994?" was a heretical attempt to out-guess the Son of God and contradict Him by telling us that He would return sometime in Sept. of 1994. Of course that date came & went but Camping refuses to acknowledge his blasphemy against the Son of God and repent.

Every thing that comes to pass comes to pass because God ordained or decreed that it -should- come to pass and nothing is outside of the eternal decree of the Living God including the greatest sin in the universe, the crucifixion of the Son of God.  The second thing we note about this verse is that not only can God make such  positively sure statements because He has decreed everything and He knows what He has decreed shall come to pass but also God controls all things as well.  Mat 10:29,30. This is the doctrine of Divine Providence which says that God is in absolute control of every last atomic particle in the universe in all time and nothing happens but what God controls causes and makes sure happens.  So if God from all eternity decreed that His Son should suffer at the hands of sinners then it shall infallibly happen and we know it did.

Anything that happens happens because God absolutely wants it to happen and He makes sure that it will happen.  Further whatever happens is according to His eternal purpose which is that He shall be glorified in the entire creation. So God Decreed the crucifixion. He
then prophesied of it here in Genesis 3:15  and providentially ordered and controlled all things including the actions and decisions of wicked men so that the  crucifixion would infallibly come to pass, which it did and that for good purposes and His glory.
