                                              COMMENTARY

  It is of extreme importance to keep in mind that Adam, before he sinned, being in a state of "innocence" toward God, ~did not need to be saved~! So when it is stated that "if Adam had obeyed God he would have earned salvation / eternal life" such a statement makes no sense at all! Only those who are lost need salvation and Adam was not lost until ~After~ he fell! See next vs for more....
