                                                                   COMMENTARY

First remember Paul is addressing Christians. To apply this verse to any and everybody indiscriminately is a misuse of Scripture.
Of these Christians he says;
Christ has redeemed "us"... Who? answer; the elect.. not by our "accepting" anything; but by His being made a curse.... -For- us. We can now extract the following propositional statement from the verse;

*All for whom Christ was made a curse by His hanging on the tree are those who are redeemed from the curse of the law.

That is to say, by His hanging on the tree and becoming a curse for those in whose place He stood, He did actually and truly Redeem them from the curse of the law. From that we may correctly reason the following.

*No Reprobate are redeemed from the curse of the law.

This is patently obvious since there are people who have already died in their sins and those who will in the future. Such have ipso-facto not been redeemed from the curse of the law. They die under the law and perish. The resulting conclusion then must be;

No Reprobate are those for whom Christ became a curse by His hanging on the tree.

Which means Christ did not die for the reprobate.

In syllogistic form the argument is;

P1;
All for whom Christ was made a curse by His hanging on the tree are those who are redeemed from the curse of the law.
P2;
No Reprobate are redeemed from the curse of the law.
.. therefore;
C1;
No Reprobate are those for whom Christ became a curse by His hanging on the tree.

*The Form of the argument is; AEE-2, which is a Valid form.
*Both Premises are True.
*The argument passes all 5 rules for testing.

Logic says... when the Form is Valid and both Premises are true, the Conclusion ~Cannot~ be False. It Must ~Of Necessity~ be true.

Two things are hereby proved;

1; Christ did not die for the Reprobate.
2; Christ died only for the Elect.

Objection; Christ died for all without exception. He just did not become a curse for all.
Answer; The notion is absurd. The purpose of the Death of Christ was to Redeem those He died for by becoming a curse for them. If He did not become a curse for Mr X then that means He did not die for Mr X.
If Mr X goes to Hell then that means he was not redeemed from the curse of the law by having Christ die for him... which means Christ did not die for him.

Question 4 the Arminians; Is a person redeemeed ~Before~ or ~After~ he believes? This passage shows that belief comes -After- one has been Redeemed, because Redemption took place on the Cross. It was by Christ's hanging on the tree, [cross] that men were Redeemed from the curse of the law. Of course the Arminian will say No! Men are redeemed when they "accept"... "exercize free will" or "believe". This makes redemption the work of the sinner, which is backwards. Redemption is the work of Messiah, not the sinner. The sinner believes because Christ has redeemed him from the curse of the law on His cross. Not the other way around. The other way around is the way around the True Gospel. It's the way to Death!

Christ's cross is Redemption Accomplished.
Belief by the sinner is Redemption Applied.
