COMMENTARY
Is this a so-called 'moral' or 'ceremonial' law? Obviously
it's moral just like all the laws God gave to Israel. Even
so-called ceremonial laws were moral for if anyone violated any of them
he was to be put to death!
Now the question is.... Where in the NT is this
particular law concerning children that abuse their parents either
changed or done away with? Why then don't Covenant Theologians put
children to death when they disrespect their parents? If they answer
"this is a -ceremonial- law which was abrogated in Col_2:14" then
they're finished because the sabbath is included in that passage which means it too has been abolished. On
the other hand what makes this law "ceremonial" while the sabbath is
moral seeing as they were both abolished and both have identical
sanctions.. Death?
Clearly Covenant Theologians have -Changed- the law on this one issue
alone by not putting rebellious children to death. What now becomes of
their "unchanging law binding on all men in all ages" paradigm?
