                                                              COMMENTARY

"Repent"! Peter was speaking to UNrepentant, UNsaved people. People who were Void of the Holy Spirit! And he commands these people to Repent... something which a dead sinner cannot do! This is  ~incontrovertible proof~  that Peter was addressing ~Unsaved, Unbelievers~ which contradicts Covenant Theology's claim that this and the next verse are talking about "believers and their children"! It's talking about no such thing. The WCF contradicts the Word of God when they say that the "church" consists of  "all those throughout the world that profess the true religion and of their children:" and cite Acts 2:39 to try and support such an unbiblical notion.
WCF 25:2.   None of the people Peter was addressing had any such "profession of true religion"! They were all unsaved.
Worse yet in speaking of this "church" the WCF states; "and is the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, the house and family of God, out of which there is no ordinary possibility of salvation." ibid.

Welcome to Rome ladies & gentlemen for that's where this notion that there is no possibility of salvation outside of -their- church comes from! So if one does not belong to either a Roman Catholic Church or a protestant church that holds to Covenant Theology they cannot be saved?!

What nonsense!
