                                         COMMENTARY

Reader... Do you sin? Are you practicing sin like the guy in Romans 7? If so then John says you are a child of the Devil!

  This verse is the summation of the teaching in this passage; the difference between the children of God and the children of the Devil. And what is that difference? Simple.  It’s the difference between sinning and not sinning. Children of God do not sin whereas children of the Devil do.

  On the authority of the word of God as given to us by the Apostle John here I hereby announce to you ladies & gentlemen, that the Guy in Romans 7 gives no evidence of being a regenerate child of God but gives every evidence of being an unregenerate child of the Devil. Anyone who identifies him or her self with Romans 7 is saying he/she is a child of the Devil! Every regenerate child of God is recognized by the fact that he does not commit sin, which means he is walking in Newness of life and living a life style that is marked by the absence of sin. Every child of the Devil is recognized by the fact that he does commit sin which means he does not practice righteousness. His life is one of continuous sinning, as depicted in Romans 7:14-25.
Thus saith Jehovah;

Psalm 119:1 ALEPH. Blessed are they that are perfect in the way, Who walk in the law of Jehovah.
2  Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, That seek him with the whole heart.
3  Yea, they do no unrighteousness; They walk in his ways.

2 Kings 20:3  Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

Luke 1:5  There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6  And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

  Can you say with the Psalmist that you do not sin? Can you pray the prayer of Hezekiah and tell the Lord how you have walked before Him in truth with a -perfect- heart and are doing that which is good? Can you say that the description of
Zacharias & Elizabeth is a description of you... not just "Positionally" but Practically? That is that you are righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless? If not then you are not a Christian.

Do you believe that you are still a wicked depraved sinner? Do you identify yourself with the poor chap in Romans 7? Do you say that everything you do is 'tainted with sin'? If so then the Scriptures testify that you are yet a child of the Devil. You need to repent, believe the truth of the Gospel and stop sinning!

Jn 5:14  After these things, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, Behold, you have become well, sin no more that a worse thing not happen to you.
Jn 8:11  And she said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I give judgment. Go, and sin no more.

1John
